Waitlist & Priority Registration
I want thank everyone who participated in our last division meeting regarding the waitlist discussion. While I’m sure there will be problems once it is fully implemented, I think in the end it will help make things easier for both the students and AWC employees. The general consensus of our division was to use waitlist through the time period of add/drop.
New DGB representative
Charlie Balch was recently elected by faculty to represent faculty on the District Governing Board for 2010-2011. After the election, Beth Tibbs, our current Faculty DGB rep, decided to step down after years of exemplary service. The Faculty Senate elected to have the Faculty elect DGB rep complete her term.
Committees
If you are currently serving on a committee and you are not interested in completing your term, please send me a quick email indicting this. Everyone should be serving on at least one committee. If you are not, please let me know by the end of this week.
College for 5th graders
On February 25th, Public Relations will be hosting a “mini college” event. Roughly, 100 fifth graders will be coming onto main campus, attending orientation, classes and a mini commencement. This is a pilot program.

Mandatory Training

Saying goodbye doesn't get easier
"Several weeks ago Melissa Behunin wrote an article for Family Focus for the Yuma Sun titled “Saying bye-bye to your child.” She talked about how difficult it can be for both parent and tot to part from one another and she shared some research that was helpful in easing the transition of leaving your child at day care.

FCS hosts seminar/workshop.

If you need any assistance with your online classses, please contact Jana Moore (317-6052) and she will probably be able to make some recommendations. Secondly, Online Early Alert: If you have students who have not logged in or have not started working, PLEASE SEND those names to Jana Moore or Carol Rinehart. They will contact those students and provide whatever assistance or orientation they require. Lastly, we will be scanning through the different BB shells to ascertain that everyone has the basic features up-and-running.
